How does an international student with Dependant's Pass (DP), Immigration Exemption Order (IEO) or with either parent who is a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) seek admission into a local mainstream school?
|
|
International students with Dependent's Pass (DP), Immigration Exemption Order (IEO) or with either parent who is a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) may approach their schools of choice directly to apply for admission. Admission is subject to the availability of vacancies and the IS meeting the school's admission criteria.
Alternatively, international students seeking admission into Primary 2-5 and Secondary 1-3 in the following academic year may wish to participate in the centralised exercise - Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) that is conducted in Sep/Oct annually. Applicants participating in AEIS would enjoy the convenience of a centralised test on English and Mathematics, and the offer of a school place based on available school vacancies and their performance in the centralised test.
International students who are unable to make it for the AEIS may wish to participate in the Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS) in Feb/Mar. Similar to AEIS, applicants participating in S-AEIS would enjoy the convenience of a centralised test on English and Mathematics, and the offer of a school place based on available school vacancies and their performance in the centralised test.
For admission to Primary 1 in the following year, international students can register with the school of choice during Phase 3 of the annual Primary One Registration Exercise.
